WHAT IS MAZE DAY?

MAZE day is a one day event that allows students to submit all of their forms, join the Associated Student Body (ASB), as well as get their student ID and locker. Students can purchase school pictures, assignment books, Hopkins sweatshirts and sweatpants, and receive their schedules. PE clothes will be sold in their PE classes the first two weeks of school.

MAZE DAY

  • What time should my child and I attend?  A schedule will be given in the MAZE packet which includes the time your child should attend.  Arrival time will be based on last name.
  • May my child attend without me?  Yes, but with that said, it is very important that all forms, including separate checks, are completed and signed.
  • What should we bring to MAZE day?
    • MAZE Day cover sheet with stations listed on it.
    • All forms completed and signed on both front and back.
    • A copy of the Tdap verification from the doctor’s office IF you haven’t already submitted prior to MAZE day.  Your child may not attend school without proof.
    • A beautiful smile for your school picture and school ID.
    • Checkbook or multiple checks for each station that may require payment.
  • What if my child is unable to attend MAZE day?  If you are out of town or unavailable, first please call the office and notify us of your child’s absence at MAZE Day.  We will ask you for your child’s name, phone number, and grade.  Upon your return, you may come into the office to return all forms and receive his/her schedule.  There will be a make-up picture day for those students who missed MAZE day on Tuesday, September 19th.
  • What is ASB and why should I join?  The Associated Student Body (ASB) supports school socials, assemblies, and lunchtime activities.  By joining ASB, your student receives free admission to all Hopkins Socials (not including 8th grade promotion party).  This saves you 50% off socials alone.  The price for a Social is $10.00 per Social (4 per year).
  • What else will we find at MAZE Day?  There will also be optional information tables for our Library, various school clubs, the Hopkins Parent-Faculty Association (PFA), as well as opportunities to meet the both the Principal and Vice-Principal and address schedule changes or concerns.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Are there any volunteer opportunities at Hopkins?  Yes.  The Hopkins PFA helps to organize volunteers. Visit (http://hopkinspfa.org) to learn more about the PFA and join PFA Yahoo group (hopkinsparents).
